Museum Diary ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by DesignMoreSteph Studios. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.

Summary: Your data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We don't have access to your photos, visits, or personal information. We don't sell data or show ads.

Information We Collect

Museum Diary collects only the information you choose to enter:

• Artwork photos - Photos you take of artworks and museum placards
• Visit information - Museums you visit, dates, notes, and reflections you write
• Profile information - Your name and profile photo (optional)
• Location data - Only when you enable nearby museum notifications (not stored)

How Your Data Is Stored

On Your Device: All your data is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's secure data storage.

iCloud Sync: If you have iCloud enabled, your data automatically syncs to your personal iCloud account. This allows your collection to appear on all your devices and be restored if you reinstall the app. Apple encrypts your iCloud data. We do not have access to your iCloud account or data.

AI-Powered Placard Scanning

When you use the "Scan Placard" feature, your photo may be sent to Anthropic's Claude AI service to extract text. This is used solely to read artwork information from museum labels.

• Images are transmitted securely over HTTPS
• Images are processed and immediately discarded by the AI service
• We do not store your images on any server
• You can use the offline text recognition option instead if you prefer
